Dr
Medina, the owner of the British Surgery of Lanzarote,graduated in
1979. He studied for an Orthopaedic and Trauma specialization in
1985, before attending the Emergency Unit of the Instituto
Ortopedico Toscano in
Florence
,
Italy
for several years .
He then lived and worked in the
UK
before coming to Lanzarote in the early nineties.
He
is a family man with a wife and five children. He is also a real
animal lover, and owns 2 dogs.
Dr
Medina enjoys sports in general and constantly works at keeping
himself fit. He practices several sports including, tennis, golf
and skiing.
He
is well known on the
Island
as the Iron Doc, since he participated
for
the first time in the Lanzarote Ironman, shortly after his 50th
birthday. Since then, Dr Medina has completed three Ironman
competitions in Lanzarote, and one in the World Ironman
Championship in Kona-Hawaii.
Dr
Medina is extremely enthusiastic about Lanzarote's natural beauty
and likes to be considered as an unofficial Ambassador for the
Island
.
